New Table

Grandma Gloria sent the twins a little table and chairs that are just their size. (And just as importantly, it all folds up for storage in our "cozy" apartment.) They seem to love it. When Rob first assembled it, they both immediately got books and sat down at it to read without any coaxing from the adults.

Keatons Visit

Lee and Beth (Becky's sister) were here for a week-long visit last week. We had a lot of fun touring them around to the great scenery of our area and they seemed to have a very good time.
Here they are with Becky and the twins up at Snoqualmie Pass. We are having a late snowmelt this year, so there was still a lot of snow piled up around the roads up there.

"Jerry"

Recently, our friends Tom and Anna did a purge of extra clutter in their apartment. As part of making more space, Tom decided to reluctantly say goodbye to a doll modeled after the late Jerry Garcia, the leader of the band The Grateful Dead, from Tom's old days as a Deadhead. They brought him over to our place and presented him to Auggie and Rose to see if they would like him to play with. [One could interpret this as technically just transferring clutter from their crowded house to ours!] The kids were a little leary of Mr. Garcia at first, what with him having a lot of shaggy hair and a big beard and glasses, unlike any other dolls they'd seen before, but they soon warmed up to him. They now refer to him as "Jerry" and enjoy including him in many of their activities, such as pushing him around in the toy stroller like in the picture below.
