Campin' with Auggie and Daddy

I (Rob) took Auggie camping--just the two of us for the first time ever. We had a nice time and Auggie did very well, overall. We went over to the eastern (dry) side of the Cascades to escape some wet weather over here.
Auggie with the tent.

So many rocks to throw and so little time! Auggie loved the nearby creek where he could indulge his rock-throwing tendencies to his heart's content.

Back on the verdant, wet side of the pass we stopped for some more romping in the woods on the way home.

Rob's sister Juel and her beau Dimitri were here last weekend for a really nice visit.

We took them on a ferry ride across to Bainbridge Island, on what was a nice, sunny day with clouds on the horizon frustratingly covering the mountains.

Auggie and Rosie played "monkeys in a cage" on the deck of the ferry.

They met a man in the next seat over on the ferry who very obligingly read them the children's books he happened to have with him. Thanks, whoever you are!

And we had lunch at the Pike Place Market where the kids fed some coins into the famous piggy bank.
