Zoo Trip # 214

Daddy took the twins to the zoo (again) today. It's actually a great place to go on an ugly, gray day because of the Zoomazium--an indoor play area where they have periodic activities like a puppet show or animal demonstration.

Here the kids are inside the perennially popular giant eggshell. The only drawback to it is that they need an adult to put it together around them each time.
Breaking out of it is, of course, the real attraction.

Rose and August are such big kids these days! Here they are waiting patiently in line to...

...pet the leopard gecko!

Day-After-Thanksgiving Parade

Aunt Juel came up to visit us for Thanksgiving and stayed for several nights, which was a lot of fun for everyone.

On Friday morning we went to the annual parade downtown. Here's the twins and Aunt Juel (and two random strangers) waiting patiently for the next float to come along.

The kids are at a great age for parades since everything they see is cause for excitement, such as these gingerbread people you can see Auggie waving to.

Toy Piano

Grandma Gloria recently sent out the toy piano that was actually Becky's so many years ago. The kids have been enjoying performing to it, since they both love to sing.
You may also notice that the story of Cinderella makes its appearance near the end of this clip. This is one of the stories the kids are really into acting out at right now.

Halloween

We took the kids out for trick or treating on Saturday night. It was pretty fun because it was the first year they really "got" it--they knew how to ring the doorbells and say their lines, and how to explain what they were when asked.
Rose was a princess (of course!), specifically Sleeping Beauty, and Auggie was a dinosaur yet again. He insisted on telling people he was "Little Dino" because that was the product name on the costume package.

Rosie's hat was the result of a ridiculous amount of work on the part of both Mommy and Daddy--and then it still didn't stay on well so she only wore it for about 3 minutes.

Rose's dress was also so long that she couldn't go up steps without tripping over it, and she couldn't quite master holding the hem up out of the way, so Rob ended up picking her up at each house and carrying her up the stairs onto the porch. Talk about getting the princess treatment!
