Petapalooza

On Saturday we attended an event down in Auburn called "Petapalooza", which was about as silly as it sounds. Basically an excuse for vendors of pet products--from the mundane to the completely ridiculous (e.g. "pet psychics")--to set up booths and hawk their wares.
But there were good activities for the kids that they had a lot of fun with.
They had their first ever pony rides, and they both did a great job of holding on.

They also showed off their bravery by riding down this big slide (though Auggie apparently convinced the employee at the top to ride down with him.)

Sing-along

Just some random video of the kids singing along to a video they have. They both really enjoy singing and dancing these days.

Spring Outings

A few weeks ago we went down to Olympia and met up with our friends Dana and baby Emmett for the "Procession of the Species" parade. (Think of a do-it-yourself hippy-fest with everyone in homemade animal costumes.) Before the parade started, kids took over the street and went wild with chalk drawing.
August and Rose are wearing their rainsuits because it was a crazy, blustery day that kept changing from sunny to rain and then back again.
This past Sunday it was a warm, gorgeous day so we decided to take the water taxi (small, pedestrian ferry) across from downtown to West Seattle, and then ride the shuttle bus up to Alki beach.

Here's Auggie and Rosie crammed together into one seat on the crowded shuttle bus.

Auggie on the beach with the Olympic Mountains in the background. Behind us is actually the Alki strip with tons of shops and cafes and huge crowds of people walking up and down, though you wouldn't know it to look at this serene photo.
