Build-A-Bear

Aunt Diana generously took August and Rose to Build-A-Bear where you get to assemble your own stuffed animal.

Here the lady is filling the animals with stuffing (Auggie picked a bear and Rose picked a cat).

After it was stuffed, the new creature was taken by their child to be "cleaned" in this bath area. (It really involved air blowing over the fur while they brushed it.)

Here they are in their full outfit regalia. August named his "Smokey" while Rose named hers "Lovegirl".

Visit from Grandma and Aunt Diana

We had a visit from Grandma Marjorie and Aunt Diana recently, which was a wonderful treat.
(We all had a much better time than it appears in the first photo!)

Here we are out to eat at a restaurant on the Tacoma waterfront.

Aunt Diana did a wonderful job of playing with the twins. Here she is patiently walking them through an online game.

Kindergarten Starts!

Thursday was the twins' first day of Kindergarten at Nell Hoyt Primary School. Hurray! They loved it and thankfully are amenable to going back for more.

Their school - which is 1 block from our house - is a "kindergarten only" building. So every day at 11:30 they trek up the hill to the elementary school - which is across the street from our house - to go the cafeteria for lunch.
Becky takes August and Rose to school in the morning, but neither of us gets home early enough to pick them up in the afternoon. So their new nanny, Ariel, picks them up and stays with them after the school day. Ariel is working on her master's degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Puget Sound about 1 mile from our home.
