Augie's dabbies.

Here's August in one of his favorite pairs of jammies or "dabbies" as Rosie calls them. I usually let the kids pick out their own pajamas and last night Augie was annoyed that Rose had chosen to wear a pair of his tractor "dabbies." He really wanted her to strip and turn over the tractor set, but we managed to placate him by pointing out that his pajamas had cool pockets. As you can see, he was pretty tickled with the pockets.
Last weekend we took a ride on the new trolley from Westlake center to South Lake Union. It was good for a quick outing, but sort of a lackluster trip. I wouldn't add it to list of fun things to do in Seattle. Here we are on the trolley.
The twins are starting to put a lot of words together now and I'll try to do a better job of reporting some of their phrases here in the future. The say things like, "Elmo over" at the end of Sesame Street, "Augie head, Rosie head, Mommy head, yogurt head...(the lid?)" Rosie has been busy giving her baby a bath, changing its diaper (a washcloth with a rubber band) and showing it pictures in her books. Augie has taken to driving bits of food around his high chair tray and saying, "Beep, beep!" And of course, his cow obsession continues.

Ferry Ride

We haven't posted for quite a while because we have all 4 been sick this week with a nasty stomach virus.
After being couped up in the House O'Illness all week, we decided to celebrate our return to decent health with a ride on the Bainbridge Island ferry. The kids liked it as usual, and we just enjoyed being out and about.

As we neared the city on our return trip, two coast guard speedboats pulled up and rode in along side of us. We had heard rumors before of such escorts as anti-terrorism security, but we had never actually witnessed such a thing before. Don't know why it happened this time in particular. (Note the machine gun mounted on the front of that thing!)

Why Mommy can't knit at home anymore....

Both of the twins were actually in on this. At least I can knit during lectures at school...

The other evening all four of us were stir-crazy and hungry so we decided to go out to dinner. Having had a disastrous and quickly aborted attempt at dinner out a few days before, we weren't sure it was a great idea but picked a place we'd all liked once before - All Purpose Pizza at 29th and Jackson. The second time around worked even better. The food is good and there is a play area front and center in the restaurant with lots of tables close by for easy kid monitoring. I think we might become regulars!

Christmas dinner in GA

We had a great time having Christmas dinner a few days early with the Yoders, Reagans and Howards in GA. As usual monitoring our busy toddlers in between catch-up conversations with family left little time to snap photos. Here are a few, though of the festivities.
This is the closest we got to a photo of Rose and August in their Christmas outfits. They stood still only because they were mesmerized by watching "Happy Feet."

A good-bye photo with Grandma and Grandpa Yoder.

More from Christmas in GA

Here is August enjoying a cookie with Grandma Marjorie. We had several relaxing days in the mountains at the home of Rob's parents to hang out read and play.
Grandma Marjorie spent lots of time reading the books that Augie and Rosie kept bringing to her.
August and Rose enjoyed playing outside on the big front porch. The best part was getting Grandpa Del to push them on the swing.
After a couple of days Grandma Gloria and Great Aunt Nellie arrived to visit and to be relief readers.
We tried to get some poses with family members but this one with Nellie, Becky and the kids was the only one that came off with out protests or tears.
