4th of July Camping

We went camping with our friends the Squires family over 4th of July Weekend up near Darrington, WA.
On Saturday afternoon our family split off and went for some short nature hikes nearby.

One to a spectacular waterfall on the Sauk river.

And then a leisurely jaunt around the Harold Engles grove of ancient cedar trees.  These giant trees were saved from logging in the 1930's by the efforts of Mr. Engles, who was forest ranger for the area.
