L.A. Beach

On our final day in Los Angeles we took the kids to the beach. (Though we live only a mile or so from the saltwater of the Puget Sound, the kids had never been to the open ocean before.) We had been hoping for weather warm enough for us all to suit up and go swimming, but, with the day being cool and windy, we decided just to walk on the beach and maybe dip our feet in. Well, predictably, the kids just couldn't stay out of the water so we ended up taking their pants off and letting them play. Auggie in particular really got wound up about the waves!

There were a number of extremely bold pelicans hanging out on this pier, hoping for some castoff fish. Rose and August were very intrigued by them, but this is a close as I could get them to go for a photo.

At the end of our flight home that night, Rose finally passed out cold. We carried her all the way through baggage claim and the parking shuttle ride and got her strapped back into her carseat before she finally woke up again!
